OPOWER

Founded in June 2007, Arlington, VA- based start-up, OPOWER (formerly called Positive Energy), creates innovative software products that promote energy efficiency in the residential market. Sold to Utilities, our products inform and empower residential consumers, allowing them to make better decisions on their energy usage and enabling them to alter their behavior to achieve dramatic energy savings. Through a combination of home energy reports, carbon calculators, web applications, data analytics, and customer services tools, OPOWER is reshaping the outlook on home energy demand and achieving unprecedented energy savings across hundreds of thousands of households.

With $14MM in funding acquired through New Enterprise Associates (NEA) in late 2008, the company continues to grow exponentially (in sales, hiring, and in product effectiveness). OPOWER is making big headlines as they stay on track to reach two million households by the end of 2010 and save enough energy to power a city of 150,000 residents!
